Rugby
St. Paul’s have been competing in Connacht Schools rugby competitions since 2011. Overseen by Mr O’Neill and Mr. Murray, the school have been supported greatly by the local rugby club, Oughterard RFC, who have generously shared their facilities and coaching expertise.
Schools rugby encourages students from all sporting backgrounds to get involved, with many taking up the sport for the first time. The school usually compete in Connacht Junior (U.16) and Senior (U.19) cup competitions, as well as taking part in regional blitzes at 1st year level. Recently, the school have also competed successfully in Girls 7-a-side competitions.
