Football
St Paul’s Oughterard has a rich tradition of Gaelic Football, for both boys and girls.
There are 4 boys teams offered across different ages in the school and 3 girls teams. St Paul’s has had recent success winning the Boys Connacht Senior C Championship in 2018/19. A number of these players went on to represent Oughterard in the All Ireland Intermediate Football Final.
One of the highlights in recent years for Girls Football was capturing the U-15A Galway Schools Championship, defeating Calasanctius Oranmore in the final. Ladies football is certainly on the rise and we are all certainly hopeful of more silverware in the near future.
St. Paul’s Football has enjoyed lots of success in recent years thanks in no small part to the fantastic groundwork being put in by the local clubs, Oughterard and Killannin. We are also lucky to have many students attending St. Paul’s who represent Galway at intercounty level from U-14 to U-18.
